Wordiro is designed to be played privately. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to the data you generate while playing. The short version: it never leaves your browser.
What Wordiro stores, and where
Everything you do on Wordiro — your current games, your statistics, your unlocked achievements and your settings — is saved locally in your browser using a technology called localStorage. This data lives on your device only. It is not uploaded to our servers, it is not shared with anyone, and it is tied to the browser you are using.
What we don't collect
- No accounts — there is nothing to sign up for and no profile to create.
- No personal data — we never ask for your name, email or payment details to play.
- No analytics or tracking — we don't follow you between pages, and we don't sell or share any information about you, because we don't have any.
Outbound requests
Wordiro makes one kind of outbound request: dictionary lookups for the word-definition feature. These requests contain only the word being looked up — never your statistics, guesses, settings or any identifier. If a lookup cannot be completed, Wordiro falls back to its built-in definitions and the game continues to work offline-friendly.
Erasing your data
You are always in control of your data. You can erase all games, statistics and achievements at any time via Settings → Reset all data, or you can clear this site's data from your browser settings, which also resets your preferences and theme. Since nothing is stored remotely, deleting it locally deletes it everywhere.
